Steve Abee Fall Kiln Opening | October 17th
You’re Invited to my Fall Kiln Open!
Come on out to the pottery shop and see what’s fresh from the wood kiln! This opening will feature a new collection of over 100 pieces of traditional Catawba Valley pottery, fired in the 19th century method and made to carry the look, character, and spirit of pottery from days gone by. There’ll be alkaline-glazed face jugs, folk figures including a pig, rooster, and a folk turtle. Also, we’ll have an assortment of blue, white, and brown swirl pitchers and face jugs, traditional whiskey jugs and jars, monkey jugs, harvest jugs, and plenty more.
I’ll also be introducing a new range of glazes developed to bring out that old Catawba Valley look and feel, with pieces ranging from quart-sized wares all the way up to large 5-gallon vessels.
Come browse the yard, talk pottery, and take home a piece fresh from the kiln. I hope you’ll join me for a good old-fashioned kiln opening and a chance to see my work in person.
I look forward to seeing you at the shop!
